Živogošće has been inhabited since Illyrian and Roman times, as evidenced by the Illyrian tumuli/graves on top of Suzina hill and the remains of villa rustica in Mala Duba and Blato. The natural beauty of olive groves and pine forests, which overhang fine pebble beaches, 6 km of interconnected beaches, clean and unspoiled sea, all situated at the foot of the high mountain, peak Sutvid 1155 m, provides tourists with a special atmosphere and enjoyment during their stay.
